Methodist Home for Children Recognizes Hamilton Point

February 2012

In 2011, Hamilton Point led a pro bono, comprehensive review of the Methodist Home for Children Foundation for its Board and assisted them in the review and selection of investment managers for Foundation assets.

Hamilton Point co-founders, Andrew Burns and Rick Woods, agreed to this assignment as an honor to Dorothy Lewis Wilkerson. Dot is Andy’s mother-in-law and Rick’s great aunt, and she served on the MHC Board of Directors in the 1980s. The services donated in her name ultimately saved MHC thousands of dollars and reflected Hamilton Point’s commitment to the Triangle and its philosophy as an independent and independent-minded firm.

The contributions made by Hamilton Point were recognized at the Methodist Home for Children’s A Winter’s Tale gala, held on February 4, 2012. The event raised $226,000 and set the stage for the introduction of the newest Guardian Angels.

Andy and Rick attended the gala with their spouses and Ms. Dorothy Wilkerson. The Rev. Bruce E. Stanley, President & CEO of MHC, presented the award and recognized Andy and Rick as Guardian Angels for their contributions to the Methodist Home for Children.
